On February 13, 2025, LaHood addressed the issue of pandemic-related unemployment fraud. He stated that "Fraudsters stole hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars from pandemic era unemployment programs." He announced that the Ways and Means GOP passed the Pandemic Unemployment Fraud Enforcement Act to address this concern and urged his colleagues to support the bill.

Later that day, LaHood shared his experience meeting with Illinois Realtors in Washington D.C., emphasizing collaboration on housing issues. He expressed optimism about future partnerships by stating, "It was great meeting with the Illinois Realtors in DC this week!"

In another post on February 13, he commented on border security challenges faced by Customs and Border Protection agents over the past four years. He voiced his support for a specific legislative measure by saying "I was proud to support the Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act." The act aims to increase penalties for illegal immigrants who evade detention.
