February 19, 2025, Peoria, IL—Henry Chang, a former neurosurgery resident in Peoria, admitted guilt to two counts of unlawful video recording during a plea hearing. Chang had placed a camera in an employee bathroom at a local hospital, capturing footage of several female employees. The State agreed to dismiss additional charges as they would not have extended the sentence. "Our office will seek the maximum punishment allowed by law, which is six years in prison."

The incident came to light on August 9, 2023, when police responded to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 530 NE Glen Oak Dr., Peoria. A female employee discovered the camera on the floor after it fell from its hiding spot while she was using the bathroom. Officers retrieved multiple videos from the device showing various women and footage of Chang installing the camera.

Sentencing for this case is scheduled for May 28.
