Darin LaHood, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 16th district, recently shared several updates on his Twitter account. LaHood, who has been in office since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015, highlighted his legislative efforts and community engagements.

On February 20, 2025, LaHood expressed pride in supporting a legislative initiative led by Representative Randy Feenstra. He stated, "I’m proud to be an original cosponsor of @RepFeenstra’s bill to eliminate the Death Tax." He emphasized that family farms and small businesses should have the ability to pass on their legacy without financial hindrances.

Later that day, LaHood congratulated Kash Patel on his new role as FBI Director. In his tweet dated February 20, he remarked, "Congratulations to @Kash_Patel on being confirmed as the new FBI Director!" He expressed optimism about working with Patel to enhance safety measures across the United States.

On February 21, 2025, LaHood hosted Don Johnson from Goodwill of Central Illinois at his Peoria office. Reflecting on the visit via Twitter, he wrote, "It was great to host Goodwill of Central Illinois’ President, Don Johnson..." expressing gratitude for Johnson's contributions to the community.
