Beginning at 7 am on Monday, April 7, construction will start on sidewalks along W Garden Street, stretching from S Laramie Street to S Ligonier Street. This work is part of the 61605 Zip Code Sidewalk and ADA Ramps Improvement Project.
The initiative aims to install and replace sidewalks and ADA ramps within the 61605 zip code area. Selected locations are intended to enhance connectivity for students commuting to Manual High School.
Funding for this project comes from a $2 million grant provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, secured by former U.S. Representative Cheri Bustos.
