LaHood congratulates Shadid on appointment as Bradley University's 13th president

Today, Congressman Darin LaHood of Illinois extended his congratulations to James Shadid on his appointment as the 13th president of Bradley University. LaHood remarked on the university's longstanding contribution to education in the community, stating, "Bradley University is a pillar in our community and has educated our students for over 100 years."

LaHood expressed confidence in Shadid's ability to lead the institution, highlighting Shadid's previous experience as a Chief Judge for the U.S. District Court of Central Illinois. He noted that Shadid's dedication and commitment to the Peoria area would continue in his new role at Bradley. LaHood added, "The Peoria community has been fortunate to benefit from his leadership and integrity, and I am confident that under his guidance, Bradley will continue to build on its generational legacy as a premier academic institution."

James Shadid, an alumnus of Bradley University who graduated in 1979, was appointed as president of the university on March 14, 2025. Before this appointment, he served as a United States District Judge.
