The Peoria City/County Joint Commission on Racial Justice & Equity will hold its annual State of the Commission program on May 1 at ART Inc., located at 919 NE Jefferson Ave. in Peoria. The event will start with doors opening at 6 p.m., followed by the program from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Guests will be provided heavy hors d'oeuvres, desserts, and beverages. While attendance is free, RSVPs are encouraged via a specified online link.
During the program, the commission will review its accomplishments from the past year and outline future plans. The public is invited to attend and informed that copies of the commission's 2024 annual report will be available.
Peoria Mayor Rita Ali and Peoria County Board Chairman James Dillon will deliver opening remarks. The event will also feature a panel discussion in a town hall format with commission members and local officials ready to engage in a question-and-answer session.
