Darin LaHood, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 16th district since 2015, shared several messages on social media addressing both personal and public matters.
On May 11, 2025, LaHood expressed his gratitude towards his wife Kristen on Mother's Day. He posted a heartfelt message saying "Happy Mother’s Day to my amazing wife, Kristen, the best mom to our three boys! I wish everyone an incredible day celebrating the moms in their lives."
The following day, May 12, 2025, LaHood acknowledged National Police Week by honoring law enforcement personnel. He tweeted "During National Police Week, we honor the bravery, dedication, and sacrifice of the men and women in our law enforcement throughout #IL16 and across the country. I thank them for their unwavering commitment to protecting our families, friends, and communities."
Later that same day, he celebrated news concerning Edan Alexander's release from captivity. LaHood wrote "Edan Alexander, the last American-Israeli hostage held by Hamas terrorists, is finally coming home! I am thrilled for his family, friends, and community. Hamas must release the remaining hostages immediately."
Darin LaHood was born in Peoria in 1968 and currently resides there. He holds a BA from Loras College and a JD from John Marshall Law School in Chicago.
