Darin LaHood discusses legislative priorities during Illinois visit

Darin LaHood, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 16th district since 2015, shared updates from his recent activities in Illinois through a series of tweets on May 12, 2025. Born in Peoria, Illinois in 1968, LaHood holds degrees from Loras College and John Marshall Law School. He replaced Aaron Schock in Congress and has been serving the community since.

On May 12, 2025, LaHood tweeted about attending Grundy County's Economic Development Council's Legislative Breakfast in Morris. At this event, he provided an update on his work in Washington D.C., emphasizing the significance of extending President Trump's tax cuts and his efforts to alleviate financial burdens.

Later that day, LaHood posted about his visit to Heritage Woods Senior Living Center of Minooka. He expressed gratitude to Brandy Sheer and her staff for demonstrating their care for seniors and detailing the resources they offer to residents as well as their support for the local community.

Concluding his day's engagements, LaHood shared insights from a meeting with Minooka Mayor Ric Offerman. They discussed plans for community development and the mayor's engagement with residents. LaHood appreciated Mayor Offerman taking time to meet with him during his visit.

Darin LaHood continues to engage actively with communities across Illinois' 16th district, focusing on economic development and senior care while maintaining open communication with local leaders.
