Beginning on Wednesday, June 4, traffic patterns on W Nebraska Avenue between N Sterling Avenue and N Park Road will undergo a significant change. Eastbound traffic will be shifted to the newly reconstructed lanes, with this arrangement expected to remain in place until the end of the year.
Eastbound travel will continue as one lane and one-way from N Sterling Avenue to N Park Road. Meanwhile, westbound traffic will still not be allowed on W Nebraska Avenue between these points.
This change is part of the ongoing Nebraska Avenue Reconstruction Project aimed at reconstructing the westbound lanes. Drivers are advised to use all marked detour routes and exercise caution due to road closures in the area. Utilizing alternative routes is recommended.
The westbound lanes of W Nebraska Avenue between N Sterling Avenue and N Park Road remain closed to all traffic. Left turns from N Park Road onto W Nebraska Avenue are also prohibited.
For those traveling westbound on Nebraska Avenue, it is advised to take W Forrest Hill Avenue from either N Sterling Avenue or N University Street as a detour route.
