Darin LaHood, a U.S. Congressman representing Illinois' 16th district since 2015, shared insights into his recent activities and viewpoints through a series of tweets. Born in Peoria, Illinois, in 1968, LaHood has been actively involved in legislative matters concerning both local and international issues.

On June 17, 2025, LaHood tweeted about his visit to Kuna Foodservice in East Peoria. He mentioned the purpose of the visit was to observe the company's recent expansion and discuss efforts in Congress aimed at supporting businesses within his district. "Started off my day touring Kuna Foodservice in East Peoria to see the recent expansion and discuss our work in Congress to help businesses in #IL16 thrive," he wrote, expressing gratitude towards the team for their time.

The following day, on June 18, 2025, LaHood addressed international concerns regarding Iran through another tweet. He stated that "Iran is the leading state sponsor of terrorism and the driver of instability throughout the Middle East." He emphasized that President Trump and the United States have made it clear that Iran cannot possess nuclear weapons. LaHood expressed confidence that decisions would be made to protect American interests.

Later on June 18, 2025, LaHood turned his attention to China with a tweet concerning the Chinese Communist Party's ambitions. He noted that "The Chinese Communist Party has a plan to replace the United States," highlighting their efforts to surpass U.S. technological capabilities. He underscored Congress's responsibility to ensure America maintains its leadership position globally.

Darin LaHood's career began after replacing Aaron Schock in Congress in 2015. With a background from Loras College and John Marshall Law School in Chicago, he continues to reside in Peoria while serving his constituents.
