Jim Rule, Chairman of the Tazewell County Republicans, said that President Trump's strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities marked a long-overdue response to a growing threat, demonstrating peace through strength. Rule made his statement to the Peoria Standard.
"President Trump's decisive strikes on Iran's nuclear facilities were a long time coming, addressing threats that past administrations failed to confront head-on," said Rule. "his operation was the clearest example yet of Trump's “peace through strength” doctrine—swift, overwhelming action that neutralized a major threat without a single American or civilian casualty. By crippling Iran's nuclear capabilities, he removed dangerous weapons from a regime known for sponsoring terror across the region. Trump succeeded where others hesitated, delivering real results and restoring American credibility on the world stage."
According to Fox News, the Trump administration executed successful strikes on Iran’s three key nuclear sites—Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. Announced by President Trump on Truth Social and in a national address on June 21, the mission crippled Iran’s nuclear program and resulted in a U.S.-brokered ceasefire between Iran and Israel. The operation followed Trump’s overhaul of the National Security Council, appointing Secretary of State Marco Rubio to multiple key roles.
In a June 23 post to Truth Social, President Trump said: "Israel & Iran came to me, almost simultaneously, and said, ‘PEACE!’ I knew the time was NOW. The World, and the Middle East, are the real WINNERS! Both Nations will see tremendous LOVE, PEACE, AND PROSPERITY in their futures. They have so much to gain, and yet, so much to lose if they stray from the road of RIGHTEOUSNESS & TRUTH. The future for Israel & Iran is UNLIMITED, & filled with great PROMISE."
Rule is a resident of Morton who was first elected as Chairman of the Tazewell County Republicans in 2018. According to the organization’s website, he is "focused on boosting Republican voter turnout, growing the Party’s membership, and communicating the Party’s positions on issues that matter to Tazewell County voters."
