Sidewalk removal work is set to commence on Thursday, July 10, at the southwest corner of NE Jefferson Avenue and Hamilton Boulevard, close to the Peoria County Courthouse. The sidewalk at the adjacent southeast corner of NE Jefferson Avenue and Hamilton, near 318 Hamilton Boulevard, will be completed and reopened for pedestrian use prior to this.
Work is also ongoing at the southwest corner of Main Street and SW Jefferson Avenue, near 333 Main Street. Pedestrians are advised to exercise caution when sidewalks are closed and cross streets at available intersections.
Parking restrictions are in place. Drivers should look for unbagged parking meters for on-street parking. Areas marked with "No Parking" signs should be avoided.
Further restrictions related to parking, lanes, and sidewalks will be announced as part of the Adams Street and Jefferson Avenue One-Way to Two-Way (OWTW) Conversion Project. Drivers are urged to remain vigilant around workers and adhere to no-parking areas.
