The city of Peoria has announced it will begin accepting applications for the 2026 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Public Services funding starting Monday, August 4. The application period will remain open until Friday, August 29. Not-for-profit organizations, agencies with 501(c)3 status, and government agencies that offer programs to low and moderate-income residents are eligible to apply.

Each year, Peoria receives CDBG funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The city can allocate up to 15 percent of its annual CDBG funds to local groups providing public services aimed at supporting low and moderate-income individuals. Eligible organizations may submit a single application for an award up to $30,000.

A virtual training session for applicants is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6 at 10:00 a.m. via GoToMeeting. A recording of this session will be posted on the city's website on the CDBG Public Services page.

Applications must be submitted online through the city's CDBG Public Services page between August 4 at 8:00 a.m. and August 29 at 2:00 p.m.

All applications meeting eligibility requirements will be reviewed by the CDBG Public Services Advisory Commission before recommendations are sent to the City Council for approval. A list of selected sub-recipients will later be published online under the same web page.

For further details, interested parties can contact Community Development Director Joe Dulin by email or phone at 309-494-8631.
