Beginning at noon on Monday, August 11, West Moss Avenue will be closed to through traffic between North Western Avenue and North Duryea Place. The closure is required for reconstruction work at the North Institute Place intersection and is scheduled to continue until Saturday, August 16, depending on weather conditions.
Access during this period will be limited to residential traffic and emergency vehicles. Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and follow posted detour routes.
Detours have been established for eastbound and westbound through traffic on West Moss Avenue, directing drivers to use West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive or West Bradley Avenue from North Western Avenue or North University Street. For northbound traffic on North MacArthur Highway, the recommended route is via North Richard Allen Drive to West Romeo B Garrett Avenue to reach westbound West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
The city encourages all drivers to remain alert near the construction zone and comply with the temporary changes.
