Beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until 4 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, S.W. Water Street in Peoria will be closed between Harrison Street and Liberty Street to accommodate the Who Runs the World? Girls! Women’s Only 5K event, which is sponsored by Break The Tape.
Motorists are advised to use S.W. Washington Street as an alternative route during the closure period. Drivers should also exercise additional caution near the 300 block of S.W. Water Street.
Parking restrictions will be enforced in the 300 block of S.W. Water Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The race will start on the Rock Island Trail in the 300 block of S.W. Water Street, with participants remaining on the trail and returning to their starting point.
