Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, recently highlighted his visits to local businesses and community events through a series of posts on social media. The posts focus on his engagement with the agriculture, manufacturing, and education sectors in his district.

On September 22, 2025, LaHood shared details about his visit to FMC Corporation’s plant in Wyoming. He wrote, "Stopped by @FMCCorp’s plant in Wyoming today to learn more about their mission to support our farmers and become a leader in the precision ag sector. I enjoyed speaking with their employees about my work to strengthen agriculture and manufacturing in #IL16."

Two days later, on September 24, 2025, LaHood discussed the importance of rail infrastructure after visiting Teleweld in Streator. In his post he stated, "A safe and reliable rail network keeps our supply chain efficient and products moving throughout #IL16 and the United States. I enjoyed visiting Teleweld in Streator to learn more about their manufacturing process and work to increase passenger safety and bolster US railways."

Later that same day, LaHood commented on his role in nominating students for military service academies following an event hosted by Peoria’s Air National Guard unit. He posted, "One of the greatest privileges I have is nominating exceptional young men and women to attend our prestigious service academies and serve our nation! Thank you to Peoria’s @the182AW for hosting our Service Academy Night and giving prospective students a chance to learn more".

LaHood has represented Illinois’ 16th district since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015. In the most recent general election held in 2022, he secured re-election by defeating Elizabeth Haderlein with approximately two-thirds of the vote.
