Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, recently shared updates on his activities and policy priorities through a series of posts on social media.

Addressing international trade concerns on October 10, 2025, LaHood commented on China’s export policies: "China’s decision to tighten rare earth export restrictions is a blatant attempt to undermine America’s economic and national security. LaHood has represented Illinois’ 16th district since 2015 after succeeding Aaron Schock. In the most recent general election held in 2022, he secured victory over Elizabeth Haderlein with 66.3% of the vote.
