Beginning Monday, October 20, drivers in Peoria will see changes to the traffic flow at the intersection of N. University Street and W. Pioneer Parkway. Starting at 7 a.m., both northbound and southbound traffic on N. University Street will be directed into the two northbound lanes south of the Pioneer Parkway intersection.
Additionally, right turns onto southbound N. University Street from westbound W. Pioneer Parkway will not be allowed.
These adjustments are part of the final phase of the University Street and Pioneer Parkway Intersection Reconstruction Project. Lane striping work is scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, depending on weather conditions.
The City of Peoria is urging drivers to pay attention to signage in the area and not to pass striping crews, maintaining a safe distance from the equipment. "The use of alternative routes is strongly advised. Please use extra caution in the area."
