Brett Bane II, a senior at Tremont High School, has been recognized as the September Athlete of the Month by Hopedale Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine in partnership with Hopedale Medical Complex. Bane serves as captain of the Turks football team, participates in basketball, and is involved in student council. According to his nominator, "Brett’s nominator described him as a positive leader who also gives his time to young football players at football camp and JFL."

The Athlete of the Month program relies on nominations from athletic directors and “in season” coaches within partner school districts. Nominees are evaluated not only for their athletic performance but also for their commitment to academics, leadership qualities, character, and service to their community.

As part of this recognition, Brett Bane II becomes eligible for the Athlete of the Year award to be announced in May. The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship from the Hopedale Medical Foundation to support further education. Hopedale Medical Complex and Hopedale Rehabilitation & Sports Medicine will continue this initiative throughout the 2025/2026 sports seasons with participating school districts including Dee-Mack, Delavan, Hartsburg-Emden, and Tremont.
