Darin LaHood, U.S. Congressman representing Illinois’ 16th district, shared a series of posts on November 10, 2025, highlighting his recent engagements in Peoria and recognizing local organizations and individuals.
In one post, LaHood acknowledged the longstanding service of a central Illinois nonprofit: "For 125 years, @family_core has delivered vital support and resources to the most vulnerable populations in central Illinois. I was proud to meet with their CEO Ann Lading-Ferguson and Chief Program Officer Ron Tyler in Peoria to present them with a Congressional Record" (November 10, 2025).
Later that day, LaHood commented on local economic development by attending the launch event for a new chemical production facility: "It was great to attend Viridis Chemical’s open house in Peoria! This brand-new production facility will help support Illinois’ ag economy and provide good-paying jobs for our community. I appreciate the Viridis team for investing in Peoria and I wish them much success!" (November 10, 2025).
LaHood also took time to honor military service members on the anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps: "Over the last 250 years, the few and the proud men and women of the @USMC have stood ready to defend our nation and our freedoms as the world’s premier fighting force. Thank you to all our Marines who have courageously and selflessly answered the call to serve!" (November 10, 2025).
Darin LaHood has served in Congress since replacing Aaron Schock in 2015. In the most recent general election held in 2022, he won decisively against Elizabeth Haderlein with over sixty-six percent of the vote.
