Woodford County residents paid 23rd-largest sum in sales taxes in Illinois during September

Woodford County taxpayers paid the 23rd largest sum in sales taxes in September, according to Illinois tax records.

In total, residents paid $947,663 in sales taxes during September.

The county also ranked 23rd in the Prairie State the month before, with approximately $1 million spent in sales taxes.

The largest share of sales taxes paid by Woodford County residents in September came from the Special County Retailers Occupation Tax.

The Special County Retailers Occupation Tax, a crucial revenue stream, is primarily allocated for county governments' use.
