Kristina Ray has been appointed as the new director of Hospitality at Taylorville Memorial Hospital, effective March 1. She succeeds Becky Morrow, who is retiring after a 45-year career with Memorial Health.

Ray has worked at Taylorville Memorial Hospital since 1999 and currently manages Health Information Management, Medical Staff Services, and Patient Experience. In her new position, she will oversee Environmental Services, Food Services, Pastoral Care, Volunteer Services teams, and Patient Experience.

“Kristina has been a valued member of the TMH team for more than 27 years,” said interim president and CEO Emily Bailey. “Her deep institutional knowledge, commitment to excellence and passion for serving our patients and community will serve her well in this new role.”

Becky Morrow will retire on March 7. She began her career at Memorial Health in 1980 at Springfield Memorial Hospital’s food and nutrition services department. In 2017, she became director of Hospitality at Taylorville Memorial Hospital to help design and operate food service in the newly built hospital facility. The hospital’s kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room were designed to offer a modern experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

During her time with Memorial Health, Morrow contributed to several major projects including a kitchen renovation in 1997 and the transition to room service dining in 2004 at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She also played a role in opening the Food for Thought Café at the Memorial Learning Center in 2015.

Reflecting on her career highlights, Morrow said: “While the projects themselves have been rewarding, the relationships built over the years, and finishing my career there has been some of the most meaningful parts of my journey.”
