Chillicothe City Council approves salary increases for several city officials
Chillicothe City Council met Monday, June 27.
The city council meets at 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Monday of each month in City Hall, 908 N. Second St.

Major action taken at the City Council meeting June 27, 2016
In the June 27 meeting, the City Council:
Approved a preliminary plat for Phase Three of Sycamore Trail;
Approved four applications for the City’s annual sidewalk replacement program;
Approved an ordinance providing for payment of prevailing wages on public works projects in the City;
Approved payment for training for the Scada system which monitors water systems in the City;
Approved hiring a full time employee to fill a vacancy in Public Works;
Approved a contract for inspection and possible repairs on the Walnut West well;
Approved payment for repair of a lift station motor;
Approved a noise ordinance extension request for Claud-Elen Days;
Approved the appropriation ordinance for the City covering May 1, 2016 – April 30, 2017;
Approved an ordinance to sell salvage rights on City-owned property at 911 N. First and 105 W. Walnut;
Approved requests to provide funds from Marketing and Tourism to support marketing Claud-Elen Days and Farmer’s Market;
Approved purchase of property in the TIF district at 214 Ash Street;
Approved funds for Downtown Beautification that will purchase a trash can, banners and brackets and benches;
After closed session, the Council in open session approved salary increases retroactive to the beginning of 2016 for the positions of police chief, office manager and economic development director. The Council also approved a wage increase for a part-time employee.
