The city of Peoria Department of Public Works said work continues on a storm sewer installation project and the west side of the signalized intersection on University Street at the Walmart entrance is expected to reopened to traffic later this week.
Drivers are asked to be alert and cautious while driving through the construction zones.
Alternative routes are available by using Meadowbrook Road to Dries Lane or Forrest Hill Avenue to Dries Lane. Several other entrance ways to the business along the west side of the roadway have been opened for easier access.
