1 DUNLAP COMMUNITY UNIT SCHOOL DISTRICT #323 SPECIAL BOARD OF EDUCATION MEETING WILDER WAITE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TUEDAY, NOVEMBER 1, 2016 6:00 P.M. OPEN SESSION MINUTES Board President Dawn Bozeman brought the meeting to order at 6:01 pm and asked that the roll be called. Those present for the Board of Education were C. Bluth, D. Bozeman, K. Disharoon, T. Holshouser, P. Park, B. Rhee, and B. Zowin. Present for the administration was Dr. Parker. Following roll call, Mrs. Bozeman asked that those present stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance. Mrs. Bozeman asked for a motion to open the public hearing on the ISBE waiver providing exemption from participation in physical education for cheerleaders and pom pon participants. C. Bluth moved to open the public hearing on the ISBE waiver providing exemption from participation in physical education for cheerleaders and pom pon participants. Second by K. Disharoon. Mrs. Bozeman asked if there was any discussion. There was no discussion. Roll call vote: Bluth, Bozeman, Disharoon, Holshouser, Park, Rhee, Zowin – aye. Nays – none. Mrs. Bozeman stated that the motion carried. Time: 6:02 pm. Mrs. Bozeman asked if anyone would like to address the Board regarding the ISBE waiver. No one addressed the Board. Mrs. Bozeman asked for a motion to close the public hearing and asked that the record show that no one addressed the Board regarding the ISBE waiver. T. Holshouser moved to close the public hearing. Second by K. Disharoon. Mrs. Bozeman asked if there was any discussion. There was no discussion. Roll call vote: Bozeman, Disharoon, Holshouser, Park, Rhee, Zowin, Bluth – aye. Nays – none. Mrs. Bozeman stated that the motion carried. Time: 6:03 pm. Mrs. Bozeman asked for a motion to approve submission of the ISBE waiver. B. Rhee moved to approve the submission of the ISBE waiver of Section 27-6 of the Illinois School Code (105 ILCS 5/27-6) providing exemption from participation in physical education for cheerleaders and pom pon participants. Second by P. Park. Mrs. Bozeman asked if there was any discussion. There was no discussion. Roll call vote: Disharoon, Holshouser, Park, Rhee, Zowin, Bluth, Bozeman – aye. Nays – none. Mrs. Bozeman stated that the motion carried. Mrs. Bozeman asked for a motion to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement for Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Financial Aid, allowing Dunlap High School students the ability to qualify for Title IV-Pell grant funding. K. Disharoon moved to approve the Intergovernmental Agreement for Dual Credit/Dual Enrollment Financial Aid, allowing Dunlap High School students the ability to qualify for Title IV-Pell grant funding. Second by C. Bluth. Mrs. Bozeman asked if there was any discussion. There was no discussion. Roll call vote: Holshouser, Park, Rhee, Zowin, Bluth, Bozeman, Disharoon – aye. Nays – none. Mrs. Bozeman stated that the motion carried. Mrs. Bozeman asked for a motion to adjourn the meeting. 2 C. Bluth moved to adjourn the meeting. Second by K. Disharoon.
