Mike Miller of Mike Miller Auto Park in Peoria was honored with this year’s Heart of the Family Award from FamilyCore at the group’s annual meeting.
In a Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce release, FamilyCore highlighted the qualities that earned Miller this year’s award, including his dedication, passion, enthusiasm and commitment. The group also noted that Miller is a champion of motivation in the local community, spurring others to take action in service.
Miller dedicates time to serving his neighbors while owning and operating his own business, the release said. In addition to being active with professional associations and organizations, he has served on the boards of FamilyCore, Easter Seals, Alzheimer’s Association, St. Jude’s, Junior Acheivement, Peoria Chamber of Commerce, OFS Foundation, Children’s Home, Bradley University and Catholic Charities, among others.

The Heart of the Family Award is given to local community leaders who stand out in their dedication to social services and nonprofit organizations. In recognition of the honor, Miller received a handcrafted, unique award made by local artist Jacob Grant of Wheel Art Pottery Studios, the release said.
FamilyCore is a social service agency serving the tri-county area.
