Report: Midland spent $10,815 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Midland Community Unit School District 7 is up 11 percent from five years ago, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Marshall County school district spent $9,746 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $10,815 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 753 to 692.

Midland's spending in 2016-17 was 17 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
