State Rep. Tim Butler (R-Springfield) had more than guests with him during the May 29 House floor debate.
“Over here in the corner of the gallery on the Abraham Lincoln side, I have a very good friend of mine and his family—the Mulvaney family,” Butler said.
Asking them to rise, Butler introduced the family by name.
“Bill is a longtime friend of mine, a fellow graduate of Eastern Illinois University, a fellow Sigma Pi fraternity member and a fellow Tug Champ in Greek Week,” Butler said.
After introduced his personal acquaintance, Butler shared his friend’s professional life.
“He is the superintendent of Armstrong Township High School,” Butler said.
He concluded by asking for a warm Springfield welcome for the family, which the House floor was glad to give with a loud applause.
