Henry FPD responds to 21 fires in 2017

Henry Fire Protection District responded to 25 calls in 2017 - 4.2 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Henry included 21 fires - six structure fires, three vehicle fires and 12 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $52,000 in fire loss - or about $2,476 per fire.

The department also received three false calls.

The Mchenry Township Firefighters Pension Fund, which has three active employees and one retired or inactive employee, was $91,239 positive as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $5,069 for every fire in 2016.
