Limestone Fire Protection District responded to 62 calls in 2017 - 48.3 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Limestone included 42 fires - 10 structure fires, two vehicle fires and 30 other fires. The fire department also responded to one call for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $338,800 in fire loss - or about $8,067 per fire.

The department also received 19 false calls, including two malicious calls and 17 other false calls.
