Peoria Heights Fire Department responded to 37 calls in 2017 - 14 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Peoria Heights included 16 fires - nine structure fires, two vehicle fires and five other fires.

In all, the department saw $86,000 in fire loss - or about $5,375 per fire.

The department also received 21 false calls, including one malicious call and 20 other false calls.
