East Peoria Fire Department issued the following announcement on June 25.
The East Peoria Fire Department will offer free car seat checks from 1 until 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the Central Fire Station, 201 W. Washington St. This service allows parents and childcare providers the opportunity to make sure car seats are installed correctly in their vehicles. (Because the car seat check in July would have occurred on Independence Day, there is no scheduled event in July.)
