City of Peoria issued the following announcement on Sept. 1.
The final pavement pouring for the west leg of Willow Knolls Road will take
place on September 4th and 5th. This process will require a temporary closure
of the easterly Willowlake Drive access point onto Willow Knolls Road.
Beginning Monday, September 10th, the west leg of Willow Knolls Road will
reopen to allow drivers access to Allen Road right turn. In addition, regular
CityLink transit services will resume on this leg of the intersection. Although
the west leg of the intersection will reopen, the east leg of the intersection will
close, preventing access on or off Allen Road for the next 6-8 weeks.
Continue to use the recommended detour routes. Please avoid making illegal
cut throughs in local business parking lots. It is important to obey posted
construction signs in order to maintain your safety, as well as the safety of
other drivers and construction zone workers.
