CITY OF CHILLICOTHE: Safety Tips on Holiday

Safetyholiday

City of Chillicothe issued the following announcement on Dec. 24.

Santa is bringing everyone awesome presents soon. When you toss those boxes out think about the message you are sending. Don't let people know about your awesome gaming system, TV, or speakers you just were delivered. Break down your boxes and flip the labels inside out.

With the colder weather it's tempting to leave your vehicle running unattended for just a few minutes. This gives easy opportunities for someone to take your vehicle.

Continue locking your vehicles and make sure keys and other valuables aren't left inside them.

Continue watching out for your neighbors! If you see someone that doesn't belong in your neighborhood or are walking around your neighbors house give us a call. You aren't bothering us and we are happy to check it out! Especially when that delivery truck has been through your neighborhood.

If you have a camera system at your business or home consider signing up for our citizens camera partnership program. If there is a crime in your neighborhood it allows us to know where those cameras are in hopes to solving crimes quicker! You can read more about that program here  www.chillicothepd.org/cctv
