East Peoria city commissioner candidate Michael Unes returns $2,000 contribution from Marquis Energy, LLC

The campaign committee of East Peoria city commissioner candidate Michael Unes, Citizens for Unes, returned a $2,000 contribution from Marquis Energy, LLC on Oct. 14, according to the Illinois State Board of Elections.

Candidates sometimes refuse or return contributions because they do not want their campaign to be affiliated with the donor. Marquis Energy, LLC has not made any other contributions to Michael Unes in the past 12 months.
