City of Atlanta issued the following announcement on May 29.
Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms and the Georgia Early Education Alliance for Ready Students (GEEARS) will kick off the 7th Annual Mayor’s Summer Reading Club (MSRC). MSRC promotes literacy skills, family engagement, and vocabulary enrichment for youth from birth to age five – with additional support for family members based in Atlanta.
This year’s Summer reading selections include: In My Granny’s Garden, by Atlanta authors, Pearl Cleage and Zaron W. Burnett, Jr. with illustrations by Atlanta artist Radcliffe Bailey as well as Grandma & Me and Grandpa & Me, written by Karen Katz.
This event is free and open to the public.
