CITY OF ELMWOOD: Truthright Theatre Summer Camp

Theater

City of Elmwood issued the following announcement on June 18.

Ages 10-18

Are you a budding performer?

Interested in acting, singing or being on stage?

Would you like to develop speaking skills or just be more comfortable in front of people?

Maybe you are a seasoned performer.someone who loves being on stage and is looking for a way to showcase those skills over the summer?

Whether you are new to the stage or a veteran actor, Truthright Theatre Summer Camp is a wonderful way for students (middle through high school) to develop their skills and take them to the next level. Over the course of two weeks (Monday-Friday, 9-1pm), students will engage in a variety of lessons covering all of the acting “essentials,” including acting techniques, audition skills, physical-acting, stage movement, improvisation, script writing, storytelling, singing, dancing and overall performance ability.

During this time, students will also develop their own pieces (an acting piece, a musical selection, or both) to perform at our culminating Summer Showcase. By the end of camp, students will have received constructive feedback and direction, becoming stronger actors, musicians and performers. They will also have the opportunity to showcase these skills in front of parents, friends and family.

In addition to acting and performance skills, students will develop confidence, experience, leadership skills, and a deeper appreciation for theatre. They will also be much more prepared to embark on an audition or interview.

The cost of camp is $150. Hours are 9am-1pm, Monday through Friday.

Enroll by emailing me, Zack Binder, at truthrighttheatre@gmail.com, texting at 309-224-9566 or by sending a message.

Please contact me with any questions.

Looking forward to seeing you this summer!
