Q1 2018 Recap: Parolees in Peoria convicted of crimes against justice

There were three offenders convicted of crimes against justice released on parole in Peoria during the first quarter, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows that three men were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for crimes against justice was 21. The youngest parolee was a 21-year-old man sentenced in 2017, and the oldest was a 22-year-old man sentenced in 2016.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Jacob Nelton. He was convicted of a crime against justice in 2016 when he was 19 years old. He is now 22.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders in Q1 2018 who were convicted of crimes against justice.
