Jan.-June 2018 Recap: Parolees in Peoria convicted of homicide

There were three offenders convicted of homicide released on parole in Peoria during the first half of 2018, according to Illinois Department of Corrections data obtained by the Peoria Standard.

The data shows that two men and one woman were among the parolees. The median age of the parolees sentenced for homicide was 51. The youngest parolee was a 47-year-old man sentenced in 2014, and the oldest was a 54-year-old man sentenced in 1990.

The offender who was incarcerated the longest was Robert Q. Buford. He was convicted of homicide in 1990 when he was 26 years old. He is now 54.

Under state law, paroled offenders are still in legal custody of the IDOC, meaning they can be taken back to a correctional center at any time if the state has probable cause or a warrant.

The table below shows the 50 cities in Illinois with the most paroled offenders during the first half of 2018 who were convicted of homicide.
