Roanoke home prices fall in the fourth quarter of 2018

The median sale price of a home sold in the fourth quarter of 2018 in Roanoke fell by $14,250 while total sales increased by 50%, according to BlockShopper.com.

From October through December of 2018, there were nine homes sold, with a median sale price of $82,500 - a 14.7% decrease over the $96,750 median sale price for the same period of the previous year. There were six homes sold in Roanoke in the fourth quarter of 2017.

The median sales tax in Roanoke for the most recent year with available data, 2017, was $2,531, approximately 3.1% of the median home sale price for the fourth quarter of 2018.
