City of Canton Board of Fire and Police Commissioners met May 14.

A regular meeting of the Canton Fire and Police Commission was held on Tuesday, May 14, 2019. The meeting was called to order at 1:08 p.m. by Commissioner Mayall.
Present: Commissioner Samantha Norton
Commissioner Greg Gossett
Commissioner Chad Mayall
Public Safety Director Dick Fairburn
Public Participation- none
Motions were made by Commissioner Norton seconded by Commissioner Mayall to accept the Minutes of the April 9, 2019 regular meeting. All Ayes, motions carried.
Motions were made by Commissioner Norton seconded by Commissioner Gossett to accept the April budget. All Ayes, motions carried.
Training certificates: Certificates were presented for both the fire and police departments.
Old Business – Probationary Employees. All are doing well.
Bills: None
Testing Cycles: The PD Lieutenant testing will begin at 9:00am on Saturday, June 8th in the Director’s Room. There should be four sergeants testing.
New Business : Carol noted that polygraphist Terry McCann is retiring. Terry has done an excellent job for the commission. Also, the budget for the F&P Commission was increased to $7500 for FY2019-2020.
Having no other business, a Motion was made by Commissioner Norton seconded by Commissioner Mayall to adjourn the meeting. All Ayes, motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 1:14 p.m.
