CITY OF DELAVAN: The Big Table/Rural Matters

City of Delavan issued the following announcement on Jan. 13.

January 15 - 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.

Delavan High School

Join together with your neighbors and neighboring communities to discuss the opportunities and challenges facing rural areas and small towns in the Greater Peoria region. This is a place to openly discuss issues - such as town revitalization, small business development, industry, jobs, housing, natural resources, and broadband - and propose projects and programs that support community and economic development in your area. With your input and guidance, we are creating a economic development strategy that works for everyone.

AGENDA:

4:00 p.m. - Sign in, grab a snack, and find a seat

4:15 p.m. - Opening presentation - What are we here to do?

4:30 p.m. - Introductions and topic selection

4:45 p.m. - Table discussions begin

6:00 p.m. - Regroup, sharing and goal setting

7:00 p.m. - Adjourn

Many Ways To Participate:

1. Stay for the entire event and engage in multiple conversations adn the goal-setting session.

2. Stop by anytime to quickly and easily provide input on idea boards and maps.

3. Mix it up, arrive late, leave early - just make sure you have a voice at the Big Table!

Who should participate? Residents, business owners, service and resource agencies, school representative, government representatives - everyone!! This is a family-friendly event and there will be refreshments and ligh snakcs available.
