City of East Peoria issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.
The ramp from eastbound Cedar Street (Illinois 116) to southbound Main Street (Illinois 29/U.S. 24) in East Peoria will close at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28.
The closure is necessary to make guardrail repairs and is expected to last two to three hours. There will be no marked detour.
Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.
