Village of Swansea Park Board met Dec. 13.

Here is the minutes provided by the board:

Members Present: Dave Chevess, Rose Connor, Mike Koeneman, Ryan Maitland, David McGhee, Diane Wickline, Jim Wolfe, and  Matt Lynch

Absent: Barb Kimutis

Village Liaison: Marilyn Neumeyer 

Guests: Mike Buehlhorn

President Mike opened meeting with Pledge of Allegiance at 7:05am, followed by discussion of Agenda Items. Approval of Minutes: Motion to approve 9 November minutes made by Diane, second by Jim. Motion approved.

Santa House: Attendance has been slow so far. Only 89 children and 2 pets. Marilyn purchased a new printer. It’s the same model as the one in use. We are set up for gifts for the remainder of this year and next.

Disc Golf: Mike received information from Dallas Alley. Mayor would like our thoughts. Equipment consists of large circles or a large net. Play and scoring are similar to golf. Cost of equipment ranges between $15,000 and $20,000, depending on equipment, for professional installation which includes a 25-year warranty. Location would be at Clinton Hills Conservation Park on what used to be the back 9 hole. Horner Park in Lebanon has disc golf equipment in use. Information packet is attached. Motion to approve by Rose, second by David. Motion approved.

Mel Price Park Memorial Trees: Mike received information from Dallas Alley regarding trees and plants to be placed around new fitness trail and exercise area. This would be new memorial plantings rather than replacements. The Village would purchase moisture holding soil. Amount the Village would allot hasn’t been determined at this time. Information will be put in January Swansea Report and on Village website. Motion to approve trees and locations made by Diane, second by Jim. Motion approved. Information sheet attached.

Adult Easter Egg Hunt: Date: April 3rd, at Schranz Park. Need annual sponsors for Spook-Tacular and Egg Hunt in amounts of $100, $250, $500. Sponsors names and donations will be advertised at both events. Need more visibility on all our social media. Link from Village website to Patriot sites.

David will arrange for food truck; Diane will arrange TWM Center and Park.

Other Committee Reports: None. New Business: Need to revisit fees for rental kitchen use.

Unfinished Business: None. Public Comment: None.

General Discussion: Matt suggested getting ideas from community sources and checking on Village survey to see what progress has been made. He has a big white board and can be set up our meetings.

There being no further business, motion to adjourn by David, second by Rose at 8:10am.
