Analysis: Peoria pays $5.41 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Peoria Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 84.6 percent of the $10,477,900 the Peoria Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $5.41 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Peoria Standard analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Peoria contributed $8,863,849 to the fund, which saw a $404,304 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $1,635,828, or 15.6 percent, in 2018.
