City of Batavia Bicycle Commission met June 8.
Here is the minutes provided by the commission:
1. Roll Call: Brett Garrett, Steve Ericksen, Joanne Spitz, Amy Moore, Randy Deicke, John Gamble, John Burnham, Dave Pedersen Absent: Scot Brasel, Jen Ress, Ryan Peterson, Emil Jensen
2. Approve Minutes
3. From last month: Ryan would appreciate it if the BBC would write a letter of recommendation for the use of E-Bikes on the bike trails. Who wants to write it?
4. Matt Knowles is leaving the Commission. We are so grateful for all the years of help he gave, and for making Bikes For Batavia so successful. We will miss Matt. Brett Garrett would like to be on the Commission and will send a letter to John and Mayor Schielke. We will also write a letter thanking Matt for his service.
5. Bikes for Batavia: Joanne/John and Scott have the 2 keys, and will continue to arrange times for Steve, John B to pick up some bikes to fix at home. John took some bikes home to repair. Dave will meet Joanne to get a few. Steve and Scott may set up a repair day on a Saturday and can contact families to stop by to have bikes checked- families have some bikes already that need repairs.
THERE IS A GOOGLE DOC WE ARE GOING TO KEEP FOR ALL BIKE REQUESTS. IT WAS STARTED BY BPS101/Amy Nelson, AND WE WILL ALL USE THIS TO TRACK REQUESTS AND FINISHED DELIVERIES OF BIKES. IT IS CALLED: BIKE HELP LIST 2020/2021. I added most of you to the document. Let me know if you did not get it and will do another invite.
Scott- please update commission about any plans to get bikes organized and ready to go. I left labels at storage to attach to bikes when ready. Steve will make a drawing of sizes that would fit different ages. Will you print out legal release forms to have there Scott?
6. Ride the Frog: Register! $90 for early registration. Late registration is after July 31 ($120). $50 if not using the bus. Sponsored by The Rotary Club. Extra days of riding are about 50+ miles/day. SHARE ON FACEBOOK! File attached.
