Washington Fire District responded to 178 calls in 2018 - 17.1 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Washington included 54 fires - 19 structure fires, seven vehicle fires and 28 other fires.

In all, the department saw $8,160,350 in fire loss - or about $151,118 per fire.

The department also received 124 false calls, including three malicious calls and 121 other false calls.

The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury.
