Limestone Fire Protection District responded to 168 calls in 2018 - 18.3 percent more than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Limestone included 102 fires - 37 structure fires, 13 vehicle fires and 52 other fires. The fire department also responded to four calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $1,783,900 in fire loss - or about $17,489 per fire.

The department also received 62 false calls, including two malicious calls and 60 other false calls.

The calls resulted in four civilian fire-related injuries. Additionally, three fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.
