Chillicothe Chamber Of Commerce issued the following announcement on Feb. 3.
Chillicothe Players Theater is proud to announce that Eric Ewan will be directing Steel Magnolias at Shore Acres in Chillicothe on May 13-16.
Auditions will be held at the Church of Christ Northwest in Peoria at 7722 N. Allen Road.
Friday, Feb. 5 at 6:30
Saturday, Feb. 6 at 1:30

Cast of Characters
Truvy Jones: 40ish. Owner of the beauty shop.
Clairee Belcher: 66ish. Widow of former maor. Grande dame.
Shelby Eatenton-Latcherie: 25. Prettiest girl in town.
M'Lynn Eatenton: 50ish. Shelby's mother. Socially prominent career woman.
Ouiser (Pronounced "Weezer") Boudreaux: 66ish. Wealthy curmudgeon. Acerbic but loveable.
The women in this play are witty, intelligent, and above all, real characters. They are funny. But they in no way, shape or form are meant to be portrayed as cartoons or caricatures.
This show is set in Chinquapin, Louisiana and a southern accent is expected for all of the characters.
