City of East Peoria issued the following announcement on Mar. 8.
Inspection of the Bob Michel Bridge, which carries Illinois 40 over the Illinois River, is scheduled for Wednesday, March 10 through Friday, March 12.
The inspection will require intermittent lane closures between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily from Adams Street in Peoria to Tractor Drive/River Road in East Peoria. Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered.
